Here are a few letters that we have received in the order that we received them concerning events in 2008:

July 19th and 20th, 2008 Potter, Wisconsinnote conflicting dates with Menomonee Falls

The 5th annual Captain Potter History Days will be celebrating with a Civil War Reenactment.  Those who participated last year gave our community an interesting and informative accounting of Civil War history.  Thank you for your time and effort for making the event a success.  We are looking forward to seeing you again this year.

Potter has the following available for the reenactors:

10+ acres available for activities; Campfires are okay/wood is provided; Potter serves food and refreshments both days; restroom and port-a-potties; water for the horses; dance Saturday night; Church service at the park on Sunday; Cooking contest for the reenactors; reenactors parking area.

We are having another Auction on Sunday after Church service.  If you have any donations we can use it would be greatly appreciated.

We are looking forward for your reply stating your group will participate.  How many reenactors will come with your group and the activities your group could provide for the two days.

Please reply by April 15, 2008

Sincerely, Program chairman, Tootie Krueger, 217 Central St., Potter WI 54160.

July 19th and 20th, 2008 -  the Menomonee Falls Historical Society will be holding it's annual Civil War encampment.

As in years past it will be held at "Old Falls Village" at the corner of Pilgrim and County Line roads in Menomonee Falls, WI.  Because last year was the tenth anniversary of our event, and a big success, we want to make it the a bigger and better event this year.
This year I am again acting as re-enactor coordinator, it is my job to contact re-enactors to see if they are interested in taking part in our encampment.  We are looking for re-enactors, both military and civilian, to portray life as it was in the time frame of 1860 to 1865.
Fire wood will be provided and water and rest rooms will be available in the Public House as well as on the grounds.  Supper will be supplied on Saturday evening.
Please let me know if you can attend either or both days.  I would also like to know of any special needs you may have.  If you can not attend, but know someone who would be interested please feel free to pass on this request.  I can be reached at weavingweaver@hotmail.com (home) or jetindall@ra.rockwell.com (work).  If phone would be more convenient I can be reached at home (414)466-8750 after 4:00pm or at work (262)512-2550 6:00am to 3:00pm.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration, we are looking forward to working with you.

Respectfully,   Jack Tindall, re-enactor coordinator Civil War encampment 2008.  WWW.OLDFALLSVILLAGE.COM
